- Squash Australia

Australian Sarah Fitz-Gerald has celebrated her birthday in style at the Women's World Team Squash Championships in Palmerston North, New Zealand.

The five time World Champion turns 42 today, but age proved no barrier as she crushed Ireland's Zoe Barr 11-4, 11-4, 11-6 in the final round of pool play.  It was the first of three comfortable wins for the second seeded Aussies, with teammates Donna Urquhart and Rachael Grinham also winning in straight games.  The playing order for the match was 2-3-1 with Kasey Brown earning a well deserve rest.

Likewise third seeded Egypt made short work of Mexico today.  The defending champions warmed up for the Quarter Finals with a 3-0 demolition of the Central Americans.  With the Australian's confirming 1st place in Pool B they will now play the runner up of Pool A in the Quarter Finals tomorrow, which will be decided later this afternoon between the USA and Netherlands.  The Quarter Finals will commence tomorrow morning from 10:30am local time.
