In the final round of 16, I was drawn to play Low Wee Wern, a talented Malaysian. Wee Wern gets alot of balls back and is very consistent. I noticed in the first game she wasn't moving comfortably and was confirmed when she had to pull out after the second game. I won 11/4 12/10 ret. I now play World Number 2, Jenny Duncalf tonight at 6pm.

Unfortunately, I was drawn to play fellow countryman and my training partner, Amelia Pittock in the first round. She is a very tricky player and very accurate so I had to be on my game. I won 11/7 11/5 11/5

Singapore Masters Quarter finals

I forgot to update (sorry to those following) but in the quarter finals of the Sinapore Masters I lost to World Number 1 Nicol David 7/11 5/11 6/11. I found the ball hard to control on the glass court which made my game plan difficult against a super fast and consistent opponent. I was a bit disappointed with the result but overall had a good trip to Asia to start the season. I am currently in my home town visiting my family for the 25th birthday (I know, getting old) but leave tonight to train with the AIS in Brisbane before flying down to Canberra on Sunday to prepare for the Australian Open. I am really looking forward to competing infront of friends and family.

Today I beat Jackie Hawkes of New Zealand in 4 games. I started off strong but went down quickly in the second due to Jackie's tight length, going down 2/8. However I made a comeback to get a game ball at 10/9 but lost the game in a tie break. I then played well to take the third and fourth games quite comfortably.

Tomorrow night I play the winner of World Number 1, Nicol David or an inform Raneem El Weleily.

Yesterday I played against World Number 6 Omneya Abdul Kawi of Egypt. I came out playin well and had a 2/1 lead but was not able to cause an upset in the draw. The scores were 11/8 8/11 11/7 9/11 3/11. I learnt alot from the match (as you do when you lose) and now the focus is on the Singapore Open which starts next week, where I will play Jackie Hawkes in the first round.
