Last night I faced an in form World Number 5, Laura Massaro in the final of the US Open. This was my first final of a World Series event and I was excited for the experience. I came out strong in the first game, maintaining my good form, I had in previous matches and moving the ball around to make Laura uncomfortable. In the second, Laura played very consistent as she does and I fell into the trap of playing a basic game, which she likes. From then, I found it hard to get the variety I had played in the first and Laura dominated the play. Her consistency proved too strong on the day and I went down in 4 sets.

It is a bittersweet finish to the event. Although disappointed with losing the final, overall I had a good tournament and it has given me confidence going into the next major tournaments of the year. The Qatar Open, World Open and Hong Kong Open Championships.
