Last night I played the semi finals of the US Open in Philadelphia against World Number 4, Madeline Perry. Perry had been looking sharp leading up to the match so I knew it would be a tough fight. I took an early lead in the first game, playing and attacking well but I backed off a bit and Perry came back to even the score at 10/10. I maintained my composure though and hit a lucky boast to go 11/10 up and took the first game. My length dropped off a bit in the 2nd and that is dangerous against Perry who has the ability to dominate the T and she took the 2nd game 11/6. I refocused and attacked well in the 3rd to reverse the score, winning 11/6 and in the 4th, the scores were even at the start, but Madeline made some uncharacteristic errors which let me surge ahead and win the final game 11/6 in 67 mins.

Tonight I play an in form World Number 5, Laura Massaro at 6.30pm for the US Open Title.
